The campaign "Cleaning the closets" rewards people who collect school supplies without conditions of use, which are forwarded to recycling and eventually translated into benefits for the community itself. The initiative, of Faber-Castell and TerraCycle, is the Fourth Edition and aims to mobilize the participants so gather as many as possible of the following items: pencils, mechanical pencils, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, highlighter, permanent markers and white board markers, or broken into disuse, regardless of brand.
Participants may form teams at schools collection, social organisations and universities. Important: only the materials received within the period of duration of the campaign – 1 February to 31 May 2016 – compete at awards. To ensure the participation it is necessary to observe the period of 4 to 5 weeks – the date of posting – for the receipt of the shipment by TerraCycle.
The points relating to donations are converted into money and the program remains in effect even after the end of the campaign, with the regular score of 0.02 R$ per unit (12gr). In 2015, the action mobilized 107,673 collection items in three months, a result 64% higher as compared to the same period in 2014.
How to get involved-students, parents, teachers and others interested in participating should join the materials and bring them to their schools at the beginning of the school year. The school needs to register in the Brigade of Faber-Castell writing instruments, TerraCycle's website[Clique aqui]. Registration is free.
