The last ten years came with a flurry of demands for the productive sector and with the change of paradigms in business policies and in their own way of doing business. And that's not just in Brazil. From 1 hour to the next, the world is realizing the scarcity of natural resources and the impossibility of the planet to provide inputs for a population growing at alarming levels.

Get the balance between these different forces converging at the same time is the ideal that closes the concept of sustainability and that is leading to the emergence of a new model of production, which reconciles economic growth and environmental preservation, considered today by the market as being complementary strategies, working in synergy.

For the industry, heavily liable in case of generation of consumer goods, the challenges are great, leading companies to exercise daily to seek knowledge, new practices and to modernise. In many of them, are always entrepreneurs who are taking over the role of leaders, guided by ethical and moral values that feed these changes and bring to the scene a new way of thinking, acting and producing. Leave the rhetoric to actually implement the concepts of the so-called triple bottom line, based on the interdependence between the productive, social and environmental systems.

On the other hand, pressed by this juncture, the Brazilian Government implemented projects and ideas that were years asleep, but that today occupy the center of the debates, materialized in regulatory public policies, which govern the use of common goods such as water, and impute the shared responsibility between citizens and federal entities, such as national solid waste policy.

Organizations that have advanced in the concept of sustainability in their businesses are investing in research, development and innovation processes, products and services. It is up to the Government, to encourage such initiatives, benefiting from access to credit lines and tax exemption those that adopt sustainable models of production, using natural resources efficiently and renewable.

But this just is not enough, you need to invest in education, since public policy assume conduct of a conscious and advanced society, such as those related to reverse logistics system, contained in the Brazilian solid waste Policy.
